Important notes- Make sure you freeze the base of your ice cream maker 24 to 48 hours before you make your ice cream. Make sure the temperature of your kitchen is cool. Don’t attempt to make ice cream in a hot kitchen. Also make sure your milk and cream mixture is cold. Do not attempt to make the ice cream if your milk and cream mixture is at room temperature or when it’s warm or hot. Also churning times vary depending on the temperature of your kitchen, milk and cream mixture and your ice cream maker.
Step 6- Turn your ice cream maker on. Add the cooled milk and cream mixture into the base of your ice cream maker. Let churn for 10 minutes.
Step 7- Add your cold maraschino cherry halves into the base of your ice cream maker. Let churn for 15 to 20 minutes or until the ice cream stops churning.
Step 8- Turn your ice cream maker off. Remove the lid off the ice cream maker. Pull the agitator out which should have marjority of the ice cream attached to it and place it into a medium-sized bowl.
Step 9- Remove any remaining ice cream from the base of your ice cream maker and place it into the bowl with the ice cream maker’s agitator in it. Once done take a spoon or silicone spatula and remove the ice cream from the agitator.
Step 10- Spread the ice cream around the bowl as evenly as possible with a spatula. Cover the bowl with a lid. Place the bowl into the fridge for 4 to 6 hours or for best results, let the ice cream sit into the fridge overnight before serving.
