Buttermilk Biscuits 2018

What You’ll need
Self-Rising flour
Salted Butter (Cold)
Buttermilk (Cold)
Salt

Tools you’ll need
11×17 inch baking pan
Food processor or Pastry cutter
Pastry brush
Biscuit cutter (Diameter should be 2 1/2 inches)

Preparation of ingredients
Step 1- Add 2 1/2 Cups self-rising flour, 1 1/2 sticks cubed salted butter (Cold) and 1/2 teaspoon of salt into a food processor or large bowl. Blend for 1 minute or until the butter is completely cut into the flour. If you are using a pastry cutter, cut butter into flour until the butter is combined with the flour.

Step 2- Add 1 Cup Buttermilk (Cold). Stir ingredients together until mixture forms a dough. Once done dough should barely stick to your hands.

Step 3- Spread butter along your baking pan. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Step 4- Lightly flour surface of your table. Place dough onto table. Pat dough with your hands to form oval shape. The oval shape should be 10 inches at its longest, 8 inches at it’s widest and 1 inch thickness.

Step 5- Cut 12 biscuits using biscuit cutter. It should have a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. Place biscuit dough into baking pan.

Step 6- Place into a preheated 450-degree oven on the middle rack. Bake for 15 minutes or until biscuit it a light golden brown at the top.

Step 7- Remove biscuits out of oven. Melt 3 tablespoons of salted butter. Brush all 12 biscuits with the salted butter using a pastry brush. Serve hot.
