Whole grain bread
Mayonnaise
Thick cut bacon
Iceberg lettuce
1 medium-sized tomato
Tools you’ll need
11 by 17-inch baking pan
Bread toaster
Preparation of ingredients
Lettuce
Step 1- Turn 1 head of iceberg lettuce on it’s side and cut the stem off. Turn the head of lettuce back over. Remove lettuce leaves from the head of lettuce. You’ll need 4 to 5 lettuce leaves.
Step 2- Trim off the bottom portion of the lettuce leaves and cut the lettuce leaves in half. Rinse off lettuce leaves with cold water. Once done place the lettuce leaves into the fridge.
Tomato
Step 3- Rinse tomato off with cold water. Cut the tomato into thin slices. Place the tomatoes into the fridge.
Baking the bacon
Preheat oven to 350-degrees.
Step 4- Line an 11 by 17-inch baking pan with a sheet of parchment paper. Line 8 slices of bacon onto the baking pan. Place into a preheated 350-degree oven for 25 minutes.
Step 5- Remove the bacon from the oven. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. To remove the excess oil from the bacon, place the bacon strips onto a serving plate lined with napkins. Pat the bacon with the napkins. Once done place the bacon strips onto a serving dish and set aside.
Toasting the bread slices
Step 6- Add bread slices into a toaster. Let toast for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until the bread slices are a nice golden brown. Remove the bread slices from the toaster and place onto a serving dish.
Assembling the sandwiches
Step 7- Lightly spread mayonnaise onto the bottom slice of bread. Generously spread mayonnaise onto the top slice of bread.
Step 8- Add lettuce onto both slices of bread. Add 2 or 3 strips bacon and 2 tomato slices onto the bottom portion of bread. Take the top slice of bread and place it directly onto of the bottom slice of bread and press down slightly with your hands. From there the sandwiches are ready to be served.
