1 pound fresh or frozen Strawberries
1 Large Lemon

Tools you’ll need

Preparation of ingredients
Note- If you have the already frozen store purchased strawberries, you can proceed to step 5.

Step 1- Remove leaves off stems of strawberries. Cut stems off strawberries.

Step 2- Place strawberries into strainer and rinse with cold water.

Step 3- Cut Lemon in half. Remove seeds from inside lemon

Step 4- Add strawberries into an airtight container. Place into freezer for 2 days. You can do this step ahead of time.

Note- If you are using the already frozen store purchased strawberries those may take less time to thaw.

Step 5- Let strawberries thaw for 6 hours. If you don’t want to wait that long place into microwave on defrost setting for 15 minutes.

Step 6- Place strawberries into food processor. Blend for 2 minutes.

***Preheat fire to medium high heat***
Step 7- Add pureed strawberries, 1 Cup of Sugar and Squeeze half of a lemon. Stir all ingredients together. Let come to a simmer first then let simmer for 8 minutes.

Note- If you don’t want the strawberry seeds or pulp in your yogurt, continue to step 8. If not, you can add all of the strawberry sauce into airtight container and proceed to step 9.

Step 8- Add Strawberry sauce into mesh strainer with container underneath it.

Step 9-Place strawberry sauce into fridge for 4 hours or overnight.

Making the frozen yogurt
Note- Make sure you place the base of your ice cream maker into freezer for 24 hours before making your ice cream or frozen yogurt.

Note- Step 10 will be different than what you see in video. In the video you see me adding the Yogurt and strawberry sauce right into ice cream maker. To ensure all ingredients are mixed properly, Step 10 will involve mixing the yogurt and strawberry sauce in a bowl first, before adding the mixture into the ice cream maker.

Step 10- In a medium sized bowl add 32 ounces of frozen yogurt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and all of the strawberry sauce. Stir all ingredients together until combined.

Step 11- Add Yogurt into ice cream maker. Let churn for 25 minutes.

Step 12- Place yogurt into airtight container and place into freezer. Serving suggestions below. Enjoy!

For soft serve Yogurt- Place in freezer for 15 minutes.
For firm Yogurt- Place in freezer for 1 to 2 hours or overnight.
